What is Cryotherapy?

Have you heard of Cryotherapy?

Maybe you have seen some videos of your favorite celebrities participating in what looks like a giant ice box? My favorite was Ellen for sure!

That giant ice box is a Cryotherapy machine and it not only looks super cool but has a bunch of amazing health benefits that go along with it!

Why am I writing about it? Because Bottoms Up Tanning & Spa is going to be one of the first companies to bring it to the public in our surrounding area! In fact, we will be the only facility in Solano County that has a Cryotherapy Chamber and we are extremely excited about it!

We want to give a little information surrounding the technology so our customers can be just as excited as we are!!

What exactly is Cryotherapy?

  • A chamber that uses EXTREMELY cold temperatures (like -230 degrees Fahrenheit cold) for short periods of time

What are the benefits?

  • Cryotherapy chambers have shown a wide variety orf health benefits that can include but are not limited to pain relief, inflammation, joint stiffness, improve collagen production, endorphin release, and burn calories!

  • Every person has a different experience in the machine but everyone can agree that they feel noticeably different coming out!

  • Every therapy session is beneficial and continuous use only increases your benefits!

Sounds cool, but what is the science behind it?

  • The exposed skin during the session drops in temperature tremendously triggering an endorphin and adrenaline release in your brain while your core stays at a constant temp.

  • Your body then responds by pulling blood from your extremities to your core as a “fight or flight” response

  • After your treatment, that blood then gets circulated back through your body but is now extremely oxygenated which is what provides the amazing health benefits people are experiencing!

Am I going to freeze…

  • NO!

  • It is a fast 3 minute session and your core temperature does not drop below it’s natural temperature.

Is Cryotherapy dangerous?

  • Nope!

  • The liquid nitrogen that is used for cooling never comes in direct contact with your skin! It is also the same nitrogen that makes up 78% of the air we already breathe.

  • For added safety this machine is equipped with an oxygen monitor that takes readings throughout the session.

  • Also a trained staff member will be by your side during the session to ensure you are comfortable and happy with your experience!

For all this information and more head over to Cryo Innovations to see what is coming your way!

The countdown begins for April!!
