What is UV Tanning?

UV tanning is done in a traditional tanning bed with UV rays. Done in moderation, UV tanning beds can assist in helping your skin drink up the vitamin D it needs, gain the color you desire, and has even helped to relieve stress, anxiety, and depression.

Tips to Maximize Your Tan

  • Levels 1-3: Ideal for building a base tan by stimulating melanin production.

  • Levels 4-6: Designed to bronze and maintain your tan 4-6x longer.

  • Pro Tip: Alternate between different bed levels to prevent hitting a tanning plateau.

  • Safety Tip: Increase your tanning session time gradually—1-2 minutes per session—to avoid burning.

Understanding UVA vs UVB Rays

UVB Rays: Known as the “burning” or “pink” rays, UVB tans the skin’s surface and stimulates melanin production for base tanning.

UVA Rays: These “bronzing” rays penetrate deeper layers of the skin, helping to maintain your tan for up to 4-6 times longer.
